After briefly outlining the quantity and nature of the data acquired by the LHC, and how it is acquired, I will discuss the use of simulations – of the detectors and of the unknown or underlying physics – in defining and making measurements. I will describe how those measurements are released and stored, and their interpretation via comparisons to theory.
